The Chronicles of the Universe

“Get in,” the fox folk said pointing at his satchel. 

“There’s no way we can fit in that,”  Rex replied doubtfully. 

“You'll fit, don't worry about that, besides if we stay out here they are going to find us,” the fox folk said firmly. 

Rex woke up abruptly in a cold sweat. He looked around his cabin of the shuttle and went to the dining hall for breakfast. As he was eating he heard several engineers talking about mysterious sounds coming from the engine room 

“ I saw its face,” one of them said. “It was dark and cold.” “ What’s face?” Rex asked. “A shadow demon!” He replied shakily. 

As Rex walked down the corridors he thought about what the engineer had said. 

“ Shadow demons don’t live here they only live in Crukator-X,” he thought to himself, “ Wait, no it is light-years from here only the fastest ships can make it in hours!” 

He ran to the bridge and looked at the outside monitor 

“ No!” He shouted “ were over Crukator-X,” he said to the Captain “ oh no,” said the Captain. 

They both looked out and saw several chunks of land rotating around a single planet. A siren blared.  

“All hands on deck, we need all personnel man the lasers this is the most hostile place in the universe.

“ Wait isn’t that the animal plane?” one of the crewmen asked. 

“ It is,” the captain answered.

 “ We’re doomed,” Rex said unhappily. 

Suddenly a giant spike of rough rock shot  through the floor impaling one of the crew members, several more spikes shot through the floor and with each the ship began to get lower and lower. Many fox folk on dragon wyrmlings began to soar through the air. Most soldiers were able to shoot them down except for one wearing a mechanical arm and top hat on a full-grown dragon who loaded some sort of lava capsule into his arm and shot the engine causing a major explosion throughout the ship. As the bridge exploded most of the people were shot into the sky except for Rex, his screams were heard by no one as he fell to the plane below.
